Procrastination

I may or may not be the single worst procrastinator on this planet. You can give me weeks to do an assignment and I probably won't start until a few days or the night before. I try to start earlier but I'm just not motivated. My procrastination has gotten a lot worse this semester and, of course, it's the semester that I have all of my core classes. For example, I've known about my geometry test, that is scheduled for tomorrow, for the past week and I still haven't studied. It's not that I'm lazy, it is that I get sidetracked easily. I will be sitting in my room, trying to do my homework, and then Netflix starts calling my name. And then, after I'm done watching some odd season of some odd british television show, I never pick my homework up again.

The Call of The Wild

As much as I have tried, I just can't relate to Jack London's struggle. If Jack had enough time to read 15 hours a day, then he should have had enough time to go to school. I understand that it was boring for him, but school is boring for many people. I have always had the desire to finish school and advance on to college, so Jack's struggle isn't common ground for me. Granted, I do get bored with school sometimes but most people do. After all, what is so interesting about factoring a trinomial or learning about the mass of Pluto? I enjoy reading, if I'm reading a good book. I, obviously, don't enjoy reading as much as Jack since I don't have the ambition to read 15 hours a day. All in all, I simply cannot relate to Jack London.

The Root of All Evil: Michelle Obama

School lunches have never been anything too luxurious, but it seems that lately they have been getting worse and worse. For instance, the other day I walked in to the cafeteria hoping to see the only decent thing this school serves; chicken nuggets. There was chicken but, believe me, it wasn't nuggets. It was burnt around the edges, but was somehow uncooked when you bite in to it. To compliment this lavish dish, was rice and a banana. I ended up settling for a burger, that was cemented together with what Chartwells Foods calls "cheese". The root of the problem is Michelle Obama. She is trying to make America healthy, which is great but school food is bad enough. Making it healthier, basically, turns it in to a bio-hazard. School lunches were 99.9% of the reason that I wanted Mitt Romney to win in the recent election. I figured, that as soon as Romney was inaugurated, Ann Romney would come on tv and say "This is America, get as fat as you want! It's a free country!" But Romney lost, so now I sit at lunch nibbling on the semi-edible looking parts of my lunch. Meanwhile, Michelle Obama is most likely sitting in The White House rolling around in the butter, bread, and ranch that I am being deprived of while she cackles like a maniac.

To Kill A Rabbit; Molly's Story

Molly Reavis says she is a vegetarian but I disagree. I swear, I have seen her eat meat in the past 2 months that she has been a vegetarian  Also, Molly eats carrots at lunch everyday. Now everyone knows that rabbits eat carrots. I don't even want to do the horrifying math of how many rabbits that Molly has brutally caused to die of starvation. Something needs to be done about this savage killer.

San Francisco

This summer i'm going on a trip with some of my youth group from Sky View Baptist Church. We're going to San Francisco. The trip were going on is a missions trip, called Power Plant. It is very similar to the other trip that Sky View, and many other churches, goes to called World Changers. I am beyond excited to go to San Francisco. It will be my first time in an airplane, and my first time in a state thats not within a state or two from Virginia. I'm also excited for what we get to do while in San Francisco. We will be doing anything that local churches need us to do. We could be helping with Vacation Bible School, or visting people in the community. Basically, we do whatever the church needs to do. I was already excited to go to San Francisco but after seeing this picture of how beautiful San Francisco is I can't wait to go.

English Books

Why is it that every time an English teacher forces you to read a book, it's always a "classic"? I'm sure there are other great books out there, that are educational or whatever it takes to make a book appropriate for English class. Most 'classics" are always the same; a dog dies, or it's set on the prairie, or it's historical, or its just plain boring. I honestly can't remember a time where I've liked the books we read in class. To Kill A Mockingbird isn't horrible but I'm about 12 chapters behind (that's another story). The books we read in English class were the absolute worst in 7th grade, though. Topping the "list of horrible books that I was forced to read in 7th grade" is Where The Lilies Bloom. I don't really remember much about this book but I do remember that it was horrible, the kids had no parents, the main character went insane and insisted on moving the family from their home to a cave, and they had a neighbor with electricity and lots of bread that they may or may not have killed; I don't really remember. Also in 7th grade, we read a book that wasn't a classic. *Gasp* It was called Code Orange and had something to do with scabs. All that I'm saying is that it would be nice to read a book from this century, preferably one that doesn't require trying to decipher the confusing accents of the characters.

Mondays...

Monday never fails to ruin the amazing weekend I just had, because I always spend the last half of Sunday thinking about how much monday is gonna suck. Tomorrow is probably going to suck twice as bad because 1) it's monday and 2) I have to get my braces tightened. Oh, and I'll miss my homefry Thompy's class!:'(
